Steam

Yesterday I missed a day of blogging.  It’s just a couple days until the end of my 30 day challenge and I feel like I’m running out of steam.

I should probably write something about the Apple Watch, but it’s hard to find the time.  That, and the payments infrastructure is far more interesting, even if the watch is grabbing most of the press attention.

But, as an old boss of mine says, that’s a tomorrow job.

Fear of Blogging

I just finished reading Ash’s piece on sharing.  It’s worth a look.

I haven’t blogged in years.  By all rights, I should.  I have expertise, a list of topics, and a personal domain that I don’t really use since I moved from ‘freelancer’ to ‘consulting company owner’.

There are plenty of reasons why I don’t blog.  First there are the made up ones: I can’t find the time, there are too many blogs out there already, I have too many things on my plate already.

Then there are the real reasons: I don’t think my voice carries enough value, I’m worried about looking silly and having it on record, too many of the things I want to talk about have the potential to offend people.  I’m afraid of being the fool.

The best way to get over your fear is through exposure.  Nobody gets better at rappelling without jumping off a cliff.

So I’m going to give this a try for 30 days.
